County Emergency Repeater

The 145.230 repeater is up but still needs some tweaking.  Go to this link to see the plans.  N7JCT and K7MEE have put a lot of time and energy into getting the county emergency repeater system up and running.  Their efforts are much appreciated and we are looking forward to starting up the ARES Net again.  Members will be notified by e-mail of the date and time of the Bonner Co. ARES net and it will be posted on the this website.  This repeater does not have a CTCSS at present.  If a tone is added later, a notice will appear here.

Amateur Radio Emergency Services (ARES) is a program of the American Radio Relay League (ARRL).  Its primary mission is to provide emergency communications for served agencies during a disaster or an emergency whenever normal communications are disrupted or are severely overloaded.

You need NOT be a member of the Bonner County Amateur Radio Club or of ARRL to be an ARES volunteer.  If you are interested in joining Bonner County ARES, download this application.  If you are interested in joining in another county, you may download this application or contact the County Emergency Manager for information.  They may prefer a different application.

For more information on ARES, go to the Downloads and Links pages.  The ARRL site also contains information on emergency communications courses.  Cost of these on-line Emergency Communications courses are/were $45.00 for ARRL members.

NOTE:  If you are a Bonner County ARES member and have not received the CD that Evelyn prepared for members, you may contact her at k7jep@arrl.net.
